The Fort Black Thrillers continue going strong over on Amazon. So many new readers are discovering my books and those four and five star reviews are incredibly humbling. If you can, please leave a review to show what you think of the series so far.
The plan was always for what is called a “rapid release” of the first three books. Almost an extended origin story, these three books detail Kade’s struggle with his dark past and his acceptance of who he must become.
With plenty of gratuitous ass kicking along that journey of self discovery, naturally.
As of this moment, Mineral King ends without a link to the next book. Instead, I’ve got a link to sign up for the mailing list. You’ll want to do that because phase two of the Fort Black Thrillers is well underway.
I don’t have exact release dates yet. The rapid release for the first three had a bit of a learning curve and I made a few mistakes. To iron those out, I’m not going to rush the next three book installment.
That doesn’t mean I’m not hard at work on it! Book four is currently in the draft phase with 20,000 words written. For those unfamiliar with typical word counts, the other Fort Black books weigh in around 85,000 words.
Does that mean I’m a quarter of the way finished?
Yes and no. First drafts always require some polishing. I want to make sure I deliver the same fast-paced thrills and intriguing plots the first three books offered. Then there’s editing, the cover art, ad campaigns to set up, etc. All the boring but necessary business stuff of writing.
My best guess is you’ll see book four before the end of the year.
Join the mailing list, keep an eye on this space, and I’ll keep you updated on my progress. I know you’re eager to see what Kade does next. Heck, so am I.
Thanks again for reading,
Russ
