Release Date Announcement for Crimson Son

Big decisions being made this week in the development of Crimson Son. I selected a cover artist and should have more news on that in the next couple of weeks. There is a bit of fine tuning and a few little elements to be added, but the manuscript is essentially complete. Some formatting after that and we should be good to go. Things are moving along faster than I could have imagined, so I figured now is the time to make a few announcements.

I’ll be providing the first chapter here on the site for free in the days leading up to release.

Also, with the cover artist selected, keep a close eye on russlinton.com. I’ll do the reveal here when things get finalized. Look for that early May.

Finally, I’ve decided the release date for the Crimson Son eBook will be June 14. There may be a slight delay on the paper – I’ll iron that out in the weeks to come.

Sure, the day before Father’s Day is both symbolic and a bit cheesy. However, the book was deeply inspired by my own experience as a father and the strains a demanding career can place on a family. It deals with complex issues of family and heroism all wrapped in a non-traditional superhero story.

Not to mention, the date fits perfectly into this quickly evolving schedule of mine. May is going to be a busy convention month for me and all my good launch days are taken. I’ll be attending DFWCon, a local writing convention early May then mid-May it’s off to Dallas Comic Con. I’ll be tweeting and blogging from both to share the fun with my fans and followers.

Busy, but I couldn’t be happier to be doing Fictional Work. Thanks for following along!

  1. June 14th is my brother’s birthday, so I’m deciding that date will be good luck for you. 🙂 My brother is nifty.

  2. Wow! I can’t believe how fast your baby is coming along. I can’t wait to see the new cover (although I liked the one you had before) and see what the editor did for you. Thanks for letting us ride along with you on this project. Is DFWCon good for writers? I went to Midsouthcon and met some great editors. I like Fencon, but I think some of their writing panels are getting a little repetitive. Keep us posted on the birthing of your next prodigy. Good luck. Tom
